Room 320 Research Project


  

 

Objective: To collect valid information from the Internet over the course of 4 class periods and report on what you have found so others may learn from your research.


Collect Information:

 

Class Period 1

  1. Decide whether you are going to work by yourself or with a partner.
  2. Choose a topic. (see topics below)

 Class Period 2

  1. Start collecting websites (at least 3!) about your topic using the links below.
  2. Bookmark your links into your Diigo Library.
  3. Take notes from each site using the Diigo highlighter. 
  4. Facts to find: State Bird, State Tree, Capital, it's major industry, famous attractions.

 Class Period 3:

 

  1. Once you have chosen someone above, use the links below to find 2 more sites.
  2. If you choose Google, don't forget to try Wonder Wheel: Make a search-->click "Show options"-->choose "Wonder Wheel"
  3. Bookmark the sites into your Diigo Library.
  4. Take notes from each site using your Diigo highlighter. (Facts to find: State Bird, State Tree, Capital, it's major industry, famous attractions.)

  3. Watch this video on Fair Use.
  4. Find copyright free images to use in your project and put links to them at the bottom of your notes.

 

 

Class Period 5:

  1. Choose how you will "Show What You Know:"

-Drawing (Tux Paint, Sumo Paint)

-Website (iWeb)

-Song (GarageBand)

 

 

 

Class Periods 6-8:

  1. Work on your project.
  2. Remember to include: all of your facts, images (copyright free and/or attributed!)
  3. Check your spelling and grammar. Reread or watch your project to make sure it makes sense and is easy to read!
  4. Attribute any images or video or quotes to the website they came from by including the URLs in your project!
  5. Share your work with the class!
